NUMARK INTRODUCES NEW CDMIX MOBILE-DJ SYSTEMS

New Models Feature Universal Dock for iPod, All-Metal Chassis, Rack Mounting

Cumberland, R.I. (Jul. 17, 2009) – Numark, the world’s leading manufacturer of DJ technology, announces two new additions to its CDMIX integrated CD player-mixer systems: iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3. Additionally, Numark is launching a new protective case, CDMIX CASE 3, for the entire line. The new CDMIX models will make their debut at Numark's booth, number 400, at the Summer NAMM Show held at the Nashville Convention Center, July 17 – 19.

Considered an industry standard for over 10 years, Numark CDMIX systems consist of a dual CD player and mixer all together in one easy-to-carry unit for mobile DJs working events, clubs that need to be able to pack away their system quickly and any other DJ on the move. DJs find setup and teardown to be fast and easy with CDMIX systems because they don't spend as much time running cables and testing levels as with traditional component setups. New models designated with an “i” – iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3 – feature an integrated Universal Dock for iPod, enabling the DJ to play music from virtually any docking iPod. Each CDMIX system is designed for professional use, housed in an all-metal chassis for years of rugged, reliable performance. iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3 also bear rack ears so they can be rack mounted for secure transport.

Each CDMIX system contains a dual-deck CD player with all of the functionality and capabilities professional DJs expect in standalone units. iCDMIX 2 plays CD and CD-R discs, and iCDMIX 3 also plays MP3 CDs. For performance reliability in unpredictable environments, both models feature Numark’s electronically buffered Anti-Shock™ skip protection.

Each CDMIX model enables DJs to rapidly access points within the track using multifunction jog/shuttle wheels. The wheels are also helpful for controlling pitch bend. DJs can pitch tracks up and down for easy beat matching. iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3 also have BPM counters with tap tempo to further assist DJs with beat matching.

In addition to standard single-track and continuous playback, CDMIX systems offer programmable playback, enabling DJs to set up a sequence of tracks for convenient playback. They can also set cue points in real time for creative performance. All CDMIX systems also have Fader Start functionality, which can automatically start cued-up playback when the DJ moves the crossfader.

Each system’s three-channel mixer section is complete and on par with standalone mixers. Each has a mic channel, a dedicated channel for the iPod, as well as replaceable crossfader and pre-fader cueing controls. For the main channels, DJs can switch between the onboard CD players or rear-panel RCA inputs for additional CD players, additional iPods or turntables with preamps such as Numark’s TTX USB or TTi. DJs can cue with headphones using 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch stereo headphone outputs with level control. CDMIX systems have professional outputs for compatibility with virtually any system.

While each system is housed in a metal chassis, professional DJs will appreciate the additional protection offered by Numark’s new, optional CDMIX CASE 3. This rugged, hard-shell case protects any model of CDMIX, new or legacy, as well as the KMX02 karaoke DJ system.

“CDMIX systems are in use at events every night of every week,” said Mark Matthews, Director of Product Development, Numark. “After ten years of CDMIX, we saw room for modernization, and we are offering DJs just that in iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3.”

iCDMIX 2, iCDMIX 3 and CDMIX CASE 3 join a CDMIX series that includes CDMIX 1, CDMIX 2, CDMIX 3 and KMX02. iCDMIX 2 and iCDMIX 3 will be available from DJ and professional audio retailers Q3 2009.
